Jessica Simpson Lachey has officially become just Jessica Simpson again after Nick Lachey and herself filed their divorce papers on June 30. The couple has a lot of property and assets listed in their names and sorting that out could be a long process .
It's hard to believe that these two have split up after their relationship was so well documented on MTV's "Newlyweds" show in 2003. The couple decided that the divorce should be settled first and that property will be sorted out at a later date.
The couple's mansion, where they lived was recently sold to Malcolm in the Middle star Justin Berfield for a reported 3.75 million dollars. Last December, Jessica moved into her new home, which cost her 3 million dollars.
Lachey, full name, Nicholas Scott "Nick" Lachey (born November 9, 1973, in Kentucky) became famous as a pop singer and song writer in the '90s with his group 98 degrees who released four albums. The group included his brother Drew Lachey. 98 degrees is currently in hiatus with each member pursuing individual projects.
Nick released an album in 2003, which provided the title track for the "Newlyweds" but the album was a commercial failure. Nick has since released his latest single "What's Left of Me," which is also the name of the album. The album, which has already gone gold, has reached number six on the American Billboard charts and Nick is about to start touring again.
