설날 (The New Year)	◎ 오늘은 설날이다. : Today is the new year. ◎ 또 한해의 시작이다. : New year was start. ◎ 이제 나도 16살이 되었다. : Now, I became 16 years old. ◎ 떡국을 먹었다. : I eat rice-cake soup. ◎ 나는 친척들에게 새해인사를 드리러 다녔다. : I made New Year calls on my relatives. ◎ 세배를 하고 용돈도 받았다. : I made a New Years bow and I earned pocket money. ◎ 떡국 한 그릇을 먹으면 한 살 더 먹는다고 들었다. : I heard that every bowl of rice-cake soup means a year to your age. ◎ 이 번 한 해는 내가 생각한대로만 됐으면 좋겠다. : I wish what I have in mind could come true this year.
삼일절 (Anniversary of the Samil Independence Movement.)	◎ 오늘은 삼일절이다. : Today is Anniversary of the Samil Independence Movement. ◎ 태극기를 달았다. : I raised the national flag of Korea ◎ 그들은 만세를 불렀다[외쳤다] : They hurrahed.
식목일 (a tree-planting day)	◎ 나는 산에 나무를 심었다 : I planted trees in the mountain.

31일(december 31th)	◎ 이제 한 해가 다 갔다. : This year is coming to an end. ◎ 이제 몇 시간만 지나면 새해이다. : If it pass some time, It become new year. ◎ 새해를 맞이한다는 생각을 하니 가슴이 떨렸다. : Just the thought of facing new year gave me a thrill of joy.
생일(birthday)	◎ 내 생일은 8월 15일 이다. : My birthday is August 15th.
